About Me:
My great grandfather, William Bentley, operated a photography business out of his home in Medford, Mass, in the 1920’s. His motto, “Pictures Pay the Bentley Way” adorned his stationary.
My third grade teacher predicted that I would grow up and become a photographer. Well, she was partially correct, lol…
I assisted for Clint Clemens for three years in the 1980’s.
I know how to use a large format view camera, how to expose and process chrome film to yield gorgeous skin tones, and how to print both color and black and white photographs in the dark room.
Today my tools are an iMac, a Nikon D700 and an Epson printer.
I miss that three-hour down time when the lab was processing my chromes.
My photographs have loomed over Times Square.
I told a 20-year old Heath Ledger that he had a smile like the Joker’s.
I like collaborating with a creative team.
When my subject sees their beauty in a way they did not know existed, I am rewarded as well.
I like to bike along the Hudson, sweat at Bikram yoga and relax with friends on Long Island, Maine.
I have been a professional photographer my entire adult life. I operate a photography business out of my home.
I love my job.
